Tin Free Steel

Features:

TFS is well known as an alternative to Tinplate, with the same base metal as ETP (TMBP) with Electrolytic Chromium Coating.
Substitution of tin with chromium changes some of main technical properties: better lacquer adhesion, inability to weld and lower brightness, compared to Tinplate. Thus, Tin Free Steel is mainly used where welding is not required for instance manufacturing of crown caps and two-piece drawn cans.
High resistance properties to black sulphide stain makes TFS the most suitable material for making three pieces and two pieces Tuna fish cans.
Excellent lustre characteristics of metallic Chromium finish will be obtained even when the same surface finish as TIN PLATE is applied to the substrate steel sheet.
